Hester trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and has appeared in The Butler Dresses Again (LAF), The Gaul(Hull Truck); Othello (Stafford Shakespeare Festival); Sweet Bird of Youth (Chichester Festival Theatre); The Mousetrap (UK Tour), Macbeth (Orange Tree), A Streetcar Named Desire (The Court), Twelfth Night (ITR), The Die(LAF). She has written plays include; The Ballad of Paragon Station, and I am all the rooms of the house. As a slam poet she represented Ōtautahi alongside Nathan Joe in the NZ Nationals 2020. Earlier this year she starred as climate activist Rosa Burns in Great Southern and TVNZ’s ‘One Lane Bridge’. Recent directing projects include Free Bus to God, Our Town, Gladys and Alfie and Gladys and Daphne (LAF). Television credits include: Emmerdale, Heartbeat, Cracker, Doctors. The Chase. Her film credits include Yellow (Ryan Haysom); The Invisible Man (Jan Nord) and Delaney Davidson’s Ship of Dreams. She first performed with Free Theatre on How Dare You (2019).
