Join Free Theatre, the Waltham community and our collaborators for an evening in the orchards and woodlands of our local sanctuary Waldheim, Seven Oaks.
Musicians, circo artists and actors will come together for an evening of dreaming in nature. Rove at leisure amongst the bands of actors, giant puppets and players from the Christchurch Circus Trust, Lyttelton Circo Arts and the UC School of Music who are joined by taonga puoro performer Geoff Low, Mark Menzies, Daniel Cooper’s Seasoning Ensemble, Nature on the Run, Dirt Road Band, Mark Vanilau and Demarnia Lloyd. Resident Seven Oaks artists invite you into their studios and roaming Shakespearean madmen and fools will be sure to lead you down the garden path. Bottom’s Bar and the Seven Oaks Community BBQ will ease you on your journey. Bring your family and friends to a community celebration of this special place. “I have had a dream past the wit of man to say what dream it was” – Bottom, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ “The Free Theatre Christchurch is a phenomenon” – Duncan Webb, MP for Christchurch Central Performance Information:

Man needs nature, community and art! 😀" - Nick Moody "It was super exciting to be there with you all activating the site in such a wonderful way!!"- Viv Kepes “It was fantastic!” – Holly McHugh “another wonderful happening last night from the Free Theatre Christchurch - organic, chaotic, delightful” – Nicolas Woollaston “What a weekend!” - Daniel Cooper "John and I thought last night’s event was wonderful, especially for kids. One of my grandchildren just followed the man with the bundle on his back she was just so taken with that and the huge heads. The stilted people, the music............. of course the space that made it all possible" - Bronwen Summers |
