During this two day kids holiday programme at Waldheim, Seven Oaks, participants (8-13 years) will play in our orchards and woodlands using mask, puppetry, physical theatre, design and music, inspired by poet Alan Curnow's 1948 New Zealand play 'The Axe'' which uses the conventions of Greek drama to tell a story of 19th century Polynesia.
Please contact us directly for more information or to enrol a student in the workshop: firstname.lastname@example.org. Scholarships available, please enquire.
The Free Theatre Education Programme is proudly supported by Creative Communities.
Previous holiday programme themes have included Creation Myths, Greek Gods and Heroes, Alice in Wonderland, Odysseus and the Cyclops, Antarctica and the Olympic Games.
These are unique opportunities to experience and learn from one of New Zealand's leading exponents of contemporary performance. And they're heaps of fun!
We also teach performance for Adults and offer Workshops in Schools.
See above the short films created by our students during our 2018 Kidsfest Programme. They were inspired by the work of filmmaker Georges Méliès and the Cyclops story in Homer's Odyssey.
